Anne’s early exposure to Yoga came in her hometown of Paris where she was exposed to influences from all over the world. After she obtained her master in Mathematic, Anne moved to the US to teach Math to teenagers of French expatriates.
In her mid thirties a sport injury led Anne to dive deeper into the practice of Yoga to find relief from pain and to rehabilitate her injured back. With her focus slowly shifting to Indian philosophy and Yoga, Anne enrolled at the Iyengar Yoga Institute in San Francisco and graduated from their teacher training program in 1989. Shortly after she traveled to India to study directly with the Iyengars in Pune, India and become Certified in the Iyengar tradition in 1990.
Anne, brings to her teaching 30 years of practice, training and personal explorations. She has studied extensively with the Iyengar family in India and with senior teachers in the US including Ramanand Patel who was her main teacher for over 12 years. Under the guidance of her teachers and through a dedicated practice Anne used Yoga to rehabilitate her back from a sport injury. In the past 20 years she helped many students with back or neck related issues.
Anne has been a faculty member and one of the principal teacher in the Yoga Loft Teacher training program. She is the founder of one of the most successful program for Back and Neck care in the US.
More recently, her exposure to the Buddhist teachings of Zen master Thich Nhat Hanh in France and her studies of “Embodied Anatomy” with Bonnie Bainbridge Cohen (founder of “Body Mind Centering”) in Berkley have deeply influenced her practice and her teaching.
Anne’s classes are progressive, inspiring and invigorating. Her creative sequencing and innovative use of props enable students to access subtle movements and to accomplish challenging poses with ease. Mindfulness of body, mind and breath are emphasized as a means to explore our being, and to find inner balance and stillness.
Anne is sensitive to the needs and limitations of each individual. Her students receive individual attention and specific instructions adapted to their personal needs. Anne likes to share her enthusiasm and knowledge of Yoga to train future generation of teachers and to guide her students to achieve health, peace and harmony through a balanced Yoga practice.
